Due to the California Ammunition Transfer Law, which was  on July 1, 2019, a background check and accompanying fees will be processed for each ammunition purchase transaction.

CA DOJ Automated Firearm System Background check (instant check)

$1.00  per transaction

 Manual Background Check

Basic background check (manual check) for those not in the CA DOJ Automated Firearm System 

$19.00 - Valid for 30 days

$  2.00 - Storage fee of $2.00 per day per box

***We do not want to have to store your ammo and charge you more money waiting for a manual background check, so please consider getting yourself on the DOJ AFS system for the standard check.***

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

We require a current California identification with current address for all transfers.  Be aware that if your current address on your ID does not match the record of a previous firearm purchase in the DOJ system, you may not be approved under the instant background check.  Also, if you have a “Federal Limits Apply” identification card, you will be required to show an additional proof of citizenship (valid passport or birth certificate) to buy both firearms or ammo.
